I've always been a creative type, not a technical one, and I never really had a desire to change that. (Until one day, I did.) I'd thought about building a website off and on for a while. I'd been asked if I had one or when was I going to get one more times than I could count, but it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I really felt that now was the time.
I had some people in mind that I could go to for help, and a couple even offered before I'd even asked, but something in me wanted to be able to do this myself - I mean - it's not like I needed anything fancy, and truth be told, I didn't want to have to go to someone else for help every time I wanted or needed something changed on my site.
So, I asked around about forums that could help the technologically illiterate by walking them through the steps of building a website, I found one that didn't scare the shit out of me, and I began. As we speak, I'm far from done, but I am learning every day and making progress. And you know what? I am damn proud.
Shoot -- today, I typed sarahmylesspencer.com into my search engine, and it brought me here. I made that happen and it feels really, really good.
